ADP400 Series Single Wavelength Polarimeters
Single wavelength polarimeters with low maintenance LED light source. Available with or without Peltier temperature control.
The ADP400 Series are general-purpose single wavelength polarimeters suitable for sugar, food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The ADP400 polarimeters are available with or without XPC – Xylem’s patented internal Peltier temperature control system. Both models use standard ICUMSA polarimeter tubes with a maximum length of 200mm. For fast performance in the Peltier controlled version, stainless steel tubes should be used. Low volume samples are also catered for with the addition of stainless steel, leur taper tubes
These polarimeters contain proven optics, pioneered by Bellingham + Stanley, featuring “no maintenance” yellow LED and interference filter. Combined with a photodiode detector these technologies allow for the reading of samples of up to 3.0 OD at the commonly used sodium (589nm) wavelength.
Three decimal place precision makes for reliable results
ADP400 Series polarimeters have a resolution of 0.001 angular degrees (°A) and are capable of reading to an accuracy of ±0.010 °A. When working under laboratory-controlled conditions, ADP400 polarimeters also offer excellent reproducibility of up to 0.002 °A.

ADP600 Series Multi-Wavelength and Temperature Controlled Polarimeters
Bellingham + Stanley’s ADP600 Series digital polarimeters are high accuracy instruments that measure optical rotation and are available as single, dual and multiple wavelength derivatives that cover the visible spectrum as well as up to four decimal places in the highly sensitive ultra-violet region. This capability of measuring across the broad spectrum makes the instrument ideal for use by scientists wishing to measure chiral compounds and other optically active substances in the chemical, pharmaceutical and food sectors as well as for those in academic research.
XPC Temperature Control
Xylem’s patented XPC technology directly controls the temperature of the sample chamber, allowing for fast temperature stabilisation that is more representative of the sample than the air surrounding it.
Connectivity & Security
RFID user clearance comes as standard in the ADP600 Series Polarimeters, which was first introduced in the ADP400 Series Polarimeters. Additionally the ADP600 Series Polarimeters feature a secure “print to PDF” function that may be configured to operate in secure environments in accordance with FDA regulation 21 CFR Part 11 and importantly, the ADP600 Series polarimeters meet all of the requirements, including wavelength directives of British, United States, European and Japanese Pharmacopoeia.
