MicroSwab consists of a lyophilized pellet of a microorganism strain inside a pen-like device. This pen-like device contains a sterile swab and rehydration fluid to facilitate the transfer of the microorganisms directly to culture media. Use MicroSwabs whenever a defined assay value is not needed. The MicroSwabs are up to 4 passages removed from reference strain.

The MicroSwabs show several advantages, which make them a great source  for ATCC®*derivatives, if defined assay value is not required.

  • Less or equal to 4 passages from a reference culture
  • Storage temperature 2-8oC
  • Easy to use
  • 12-18 month epiration date after production

MicroSwabPlus are similar products as MicroSwab. The difference between these two products is that the strain passed trough a maximum of 2 passages up to the ATCC reference cultures (maximum 4 passages for MicroSwabs).
This characteristic can be of advantage to conform with specific requirements.
MicroSwabPlus are manufactured and distributed in conformance with the IVD directive and CE mark requirements. Therefore they can be used for clinical and industrial applications.
